National qualifications framework – Serbia

The National Qualifications Framework of Serbia (NQFS) was adopted in 2018. It has 8 levels, with two sublevels each at levels 6 and 7, and includes four types of qualifications: general and vocational qualifications covering pre-university education, and academic and professional qualifications covering higher education.
Serbia is an EU candidate country and participates in the EQF Advisory Group. It referenced the NQFS to the EQF and self-certified against the QF-EHEA in 2020. The NQFS has fulfilled all the criteria of the activation stage and has reached the operational stage.
